GPPH welding tables are made from hardened S355J2+N structural steel. A conscious choice was made not to choose nitrided steel. This is due to table tops which have too high a degree of reflection due to pickling. The risk of errors due to disturbing reflections is virtually nil with GPPH tables.
The steel used for the GPPH welding tables is subject to a strict and meticulous selection that leaves nothing to chance. The colors of the table top contain shades between blue and dark gray depending on the batch.
Paint coatings are avoided as they make the surface of the tables difficult to guide. GPPH welding tables are coated with an oil-based preparation to provide strong protection during transport and first use.
