Copper

Copper is often used as an intermediate layer in nickel and chrome plating because it increases corrosion resistance and improves adhesion to metals such as zamak and zinc. As a final layer, copper is useful in explosion-proof applications because it reduces the risk of sparking.

Although copper has excellent electrical conductivity, it can quickly deteriorate in practice due to oxidation in air, which requires attention when used in electrical connections.

Characteristics
Red in color
