Project engineer material testing and damage analysis
The BIW is looking for an engineer to strengthen its material testing and damage analysis departments.
You will be employed in the mechanical testing and damage analysis departments. Your function will consist of setting up test programmes to qualify welded structures for e.g. offshore wind, hydrogen and CO2 storage & transport, ... You will also perform damage analyses on metal parts. Damages can be either welding or corrosion-related, or purely mechanical.
You are in contact with customers, analyse the problem situation and organise the tests needed for the investigation. You regularly visit companies for on-site inspection, sampling or specific research. You summarise your findings in reports for the customer.
