Klingspor produces more than 350,000 Kronenflex® cutting discs every day However, as moisture has a negative effect on the performance of Kronenflex® cutting discs, Klingspor pays particular attention to the correct storage of its products. Klingspor's extensive range of cutting discs includes products that meet the needs of both professionals in their daily work and DIY enthusiasts in their home projects. Kronenflex® cutting discs meet a wide range of requirements and are used in all kinds of practical applications. The cut-off discs from the Kronenflex® line are best used in combination with an angle grinder. The Kronenflex® brand name stands for the highest possible quality that can be achieved with today's cut-off discs. These high-quality products are characterised by minimal burr formation, extremely short cutting times and excellent durability in continuous use. Klingspor fibre discs are the perfect choice for coarse and fine sanding, for removing rust from metal, for deburring and for finishing weld seams. In combination with a matching backing pad, fibre discs are also used for fine sanding of metals. Other advantages of Klingspor fibre discs: minimal clogging, above-average service life, even sanding pattern and cool sanding. These advantages have made fibre discs one of Klingspor's top sellers – with an annual production that would cover more than 100 football pitches. Abrasive vulcanised fibre discs: The name is in the carrier. Fibre discs belong to the category of coated abrasives and owe their name to the vulcanised fibre backing used in their production: a composite material made of cotton and cellulose fibres. Lightweight yet durable, the backing, in combination with the densely coated abrasive grain of -> aluminium oxide -> zirconium oxide and -> ceramic aluminium oxide forms the basis of powerful fibre discs that can be used effortlessly on even the most demanding surfaces.
Flap discs in a wide variety of designs
The flap disc, also known as an SMT or flat flap disc, delivers an abrasive capacity several times higher than that of other tools, thanks to the fan-shaped radial arrangement of the linen abrasive flaps. Klingspor offers the flap disc in many different versions: flat or conical and with a fibreglass or plastic backing. The conical backing discs sand with a smaller contact surface and can deliver higher material removal rates because they enable point-by-point machining. This makes conical flap discs the perfect choice for machining edges and removing weld seams. Users choose the flat versions when they need a flap disc that is ideal for flat sanding.
