Valk Welding: The People Behind
Valk Welding is a family owned company which is specialised in engineering and assembly of arc welding robot systems. Valk Welding belongs to the market leaders in robot and welding technology in Europe. Next to the engineering and assembly of Arc welding robot systems Valk Welding has another important division. The sales of consumables such as torches, wire dispensing systems and all kind of welding wire (monthly 800 tons of welding wire). In this video we let the people behind Valk Welding speak. The company slogan ‘The Strong Connection’ is sensible throughout the whole company in our foreign and domestic subsidiaries.

Welding of trailers for boats and tiny houses
In this robotic installation the complete trailers is clamped and welded in one cycle. This is done by four Panasonic arc welding robots who are working simultaneously. The large welding jig contains a complete assembled product which is transported into the welding station. Because of the unique carousel solution the welding jig can be fully rotated in a way that top and bottom of the product can be welded in one cycle. Watch the video below to see the welding robot installation fully operational.

Robot Solutions
We go for the innovative solution to your problem. We think along with you, so that together we can achieve the best result. We supply all-in-one welding robot systems, but above all we offer solutions! Our solution consists of three components: the robot, the construction and a software package. Everything from one source and the ideal total solution for your company.

Welding accessories
Valk Welding helps you from A to Z, we help you with your welding robot installation, but we also help you with your welding equipment.

Real-time correction of seam shape at irregular pre-openings
As long as parts fit perfectly together, gas cap and wire searching (Quick-Touch) are sufficient to measure deviations in the position of the weld seam so that the robot can automatically adjust it in the welding program. However, with V-, I- and raised welds, irregular pre-openings and deformations due to shrinkage or heat input, it becomes a lot more difficult and sometimes even impossible to weld these welds with the welding robot. Use of the welding robot in such cases is still no match for the speed and flexibility of an experienced manual welder. The ARC-EYE Adaptive plug-in that Valk Welding developed for its ARC-EYE CSS welding seam tracking system now changes this. ARC-EYE CSS is a laser sensor system, mounted on the robotic welding torch that registers deviations in the position of the weld seam during welding and corrects them in real time. This eliminates the need for manual program corrections and increases process speed. With the ARC-EYE Adaptive plug-in, the ARC-EYE CSS can now also be used to correct welds with larger tolerances in real time. Therefore, workpieces that could previously only be welded manually can now be welded on the robot thanks to this development.

Simplified and automatic robot programming with ArcNC for Panasonic
ArcNC, a Belgic spin-off from Oqton, has forged a strong development partnership with Valk Welding, automating the process of offline programming for welding robots. This collaboration has introduced ‘ArcNC for Panasonic’, a user-friendly software tool that takes the programming ease of a cobot and combines it with the longevity, accuracy, and repeatability of Panasonic robots. James de Villiers, robot programming specialist at Valk Welding, puts it simply: ‘‘This means that everyone can now program a welding robot, even without previous experience.’’ Traditionally, robot programming has followed two primary paths: online programming using a teach pendant and offline programming using software like DTPS. Valk Welding’s involvement with ArcNC has been instrumental in advancing the latter approach. ‘‘We are in contact with the developers almost every day,’’ de Villiers notes, ‘‘and together we do a lot of testing and development for the software, specifically for Panasonic.’’ The result is an advanced programming tool that automatically analyses CAD-files, identifies welds, and recommends welding positions and sequences, integrated with our reliable hardware.
